I strive to always lead a teaching and learning community that values collaboration, communication, creativity, intentional professional development for all staff, and continual growth by educating learners through problem solving, teamwork, and data-driven decisions.

CommunityStrong relationships are key within our learning communities. Students, families, teachers, support staff, administrators and community members are all key. All of these members should be connected and should have a role in making our learning communities successful.
Professional DevelopmentProfessional development needs to be catered to the needs of our teachers. It should be differentiated, intentional, engaging, focused, data-driven, and research based. It must leave our teachers feeling inspired and empowered.
Lead LearnerI believe that as educators, we constantly need to grow and learn in order to effectively meet the needs of our students and learning communities. As lead learners, we need to inspire those around us.
EquityI believe that staff, students and families are all valued in my building, and they need to be treated equitably at all times. Individually, and systematically, we as educators need to make sure our learning environment is equitable for all of our stakeholders.
Creativity and imagination should be embraced and fostered in our teachers and our students. When our teachers can plan lessons and units that are deeply aligned to the standards but just as importantly are engaging, interesting, and ignite our students’ and teachers’ passion for learning, our schools become a better place for both students and teachers.

"Katie has the leadership skills and ability to be the kind of principal who will not only be loved by the students, staff, and parents, but will raise the performance of all the students in the school. She's clearly cut out to lead a school."
